Reviews Overview

Most Liked

One of the biggest highlights of Chip Inn is the fresh seafood, where every portion is cooked to order, ensuring it remains tender and flavorful. The traditional batter is light and crispy, appealing to both first-timers and seasoned fish and chip lovers alike. Many patrons rave about the generous portion sizes, especially the small cod and chips, which is already a filling meal. Customers appreciate the quick and friendly service, bolstered by the owners' dedication to customer satisfaction. The nostalgic, retro vibe of the shop adds to the charm, making the experience enjoyable. Lastly, the affordability of meals makes this a standout option for those on a budget, with prices reminiscent of the 90s.

Most Disliked

Despite the glowing reviews, Chip Inn is not without its minor drawbacks. Some regulars have noted the limited space inside can feel cramped, especially during busy hours, and the wait time might reach up to ten minutes at peak times. While the service is generally efficient, a few customers have remarked that staff could improve their friendliness, as a smile could enhance the overall experience. Additionally, being a cash-only establishment can be inconvenient for those who prefer card payments. Lastly, some diners wish for a wider variety of menu items; while they offer the classic fish and chip staples, a few unique innovations could spice things up further.

A small cod and chips is a really good sized portion. Goodness knows how big the other sizes are. The cod was so tender and battered to perfection. The chips were perfect. The staff are very efficient and have a system running like clockwork, which is good, because it gets so busy. This is testament to how good the food is.

Might be the best fish and chip shop within a ten mile radius. It's very small and retro looking, which I happen to like, but you could almost walk past it and not notice. I've probably driven past it 1000 times and not stopped but finally I did and I was so pleased. The food is cooked to order and so fresh, plus these guys know how to fry. It's never greasy and barely leaves any oil on the paper It's wrapped in. Yes, you could wait upto ten minutes but trust me, its worth it. I can't think of a restaurant or pub that I've had better fish and chips. Plus the prices are like 90s prices. £7 for cod and chips is amazing. A true hidden gem. Do yourself a favour and try it out. You can usually park right outside. The owners are so lovely and polite and always put their customers first above profit. Thank you so much for your love of your craft.

Really top notch fish and chips. I am fussy about my fish and chips and these were absolutely perfect! Crisp and light both the chips and the cod. The guy serving could be a bit friendlier and crack a smile, but it's still well worth it as the food is great!!

Lovely food they take good care to cook to perfection, so it can take a while, just ring ahead if you don't like to hang around. They also do deep fried mars bars (evil) lol deffo worth trying at least once, it was my first one and it was lush deffo won't buy often as prob very very naughty, but it was great lol. Thanks for the lovely food :)

Without a doubt the best chip shop around this area. As usual, I had to wait around 10 minutes as all the fish is freshly cooked to order, not sitting around in a heated cabinet like most chip shops. When I got home the batter was still as crispy as when they wrapped it up. An incredible fish and chip shop. You have to give it a try..
